Cherrie from O'Carrollyns private eco village at Port Stephens gave daughter Tarnie a portrait shoot for her 17th birthday. We had a great session . Here are a few un edited shots from that shoot.

We did several looks an Jo Nelson did a great job of hair and make up.
A beauty dish high camera left and a gridded spot camera right to light the chair and to drop some shine on her pants
We try to achieve several hairstyles during the longer sessions as well different lighting setups.

Corporate Portrait-Anne Bunt of Positive Transitions

When I shoot portraits I like my clients to feel good about themselves and certainly want them to be pleased with the results. I see many people are moving away from extensive photshop skin work. Comments like "I don't want to look like I have rubber skin" are common now. I do still get requests like" can you make me look like I've had a great nights sleep".

I take the time to light my subjects in a way where Photoshop work is very minimal. Clients appreciate me taking the time to produce flattering results with a more natural look, studio strobes can be unkind if one is not careful.

These images below of Anne Bunt of Possitive Tansitions have no skin retouching ... zero. Anne , a vibrant professional looks great. I feel that she certainly has a resemblance to
Michelle Peiffer.

We were shooting images for soon to be upgraded website, they need to be light, clean and the white seamless background enable us to drop a colour or a transparent graphic behind her. I shot her facing both directions so we have her image which ever way we face her towards the text.We also shot her full length, with in a business suit and of course with a softer look with different coloured shirts.

As you can see from the image above for the headshots I used a large softbox above the camera and a white reflector below.

I especially like the white on white look in the first image and the last image. These will go wellon the website.Did I ask what colours will be on the new website? Of course, aqua.

Passmores Business & Managemet College Corporate Shoot

We had the pleasure of shooting the students of Passmores Business & Managemet College. The shoot was to provide a corporate style of portrait for the graduating students CV. We shot approx 44 individual portraits with several shots for each student and teacher to chose their favourite. 3 full class shots and several shots of the entire college students and staff. This required 5 different setups ( including the moving around of 40+chairs etc) and for each person to chose their image as well as all the required releases and information gathering. We arrived at 9am and had left by 12.30pm. This requires a smooth work flow and good communication skills with your clients as many of these people are camera shy.Maree was fantastic on the production side, she mustered the talent, created the paper trail and I shot each student, she helped them chose their image. This is where shooting tethered to the laptop is a great time saver. It directs the images directly on the the laptops hard drive with almost instant viewing of a large image. ( one disadvantage that still makes me nervous, is that it does not save a copy to the card in the camera)

It was a great shoot and we were really impressed with these young professionals, they are bright and well groomed and I guess that is why Passmores places most into jobs.

Once back to the studio came the editing and the electronic "vanishing cream" to eliminated those odd skin blemishes amongst this crew. Burn student a copy and presto... their First corporate portfolio shot.
