ric woods photography pool shoot-for little green frog marketing

Little Green Frog ( LGF) Marketing has used our services for years now. Jamie Gilmore the owner /director is a young and creative fellow. He and myself have, over the past 10 years worked on many projects and developed a close working relationship, it's a rare thing in advertising..a "bond".
I'm working on a project with Katie Todd (LGF) We are capturing several spectacular pools , both at midday and at sunset for one of their clients.
Below is a video grab of one of the pools and a mock up tear sheet with one of the images.

The image below was a time exposure of around 30 sec .There is a 2 x CTO (colour temprature orange full cut x 2) gelled SB600 camera right. There is a SB26 CTO x 1 in mid shot to highlight the small pot plant and 2 SB26 with CTO gels to light far pool surround. No reflections have been cleaned up at this time. It was difficult to get enough light into the pool as it was very long and the pools underwater lights were very feint blue LEDS.

The image below with spa not running was lit with the same strobes as above but I painted in the background with my torch during the long exposure for a little more depth, yes it was a bit of a sprint. This image if used would have a new sky dropped into the shot in post and a clean up of details. We had to wait so long for the pool LEDS to register the light in the sky was gone...except for the southern cross.
