Newcastle Advanced Studio Lighting Course this Tuesday Night...I cant wait-ric woods photography

I get a great buzz out of teaching people the way I use studio lighting. As I was a late starter in photography and I started on film.I was not able to go to tafe or uni I was busy working to pay the bills.I tried to hire a couple of local photographers to teach me some aspects of photography that were not my strong points. Not much success here as these people felt that there was no use in teaching someone as they may lose work????? I can understand insecurity, but I was going to learn anyway.Four people that were a great help were Gordon Finn an EX RAAF photographer who taught me to develop my first roll of film and print my first BW print.Les Porter a generous man who has a business supplying photographic supplies. Chris Patterson a newcastle pro photographer and a great guy and a legend with exposure and David Barnes now the owner of ProAm digital and film lab.A big thanks to these guys.
There were a few local TAFE teachers that were on the opposite end of the scale than helpful. Putting in lots of hard hours and making lots of mistakes Im now able to help these folk pick up the quality of their image making ( ha ha, cheeky huh?)
I want to have a doorway for creative minded people can walk through.I want to be able to give information and help to people that were in the same boat as myself i.e. working dads that cannot go to teaching institutions, single mums and students that want to supplement their current lessons.Making images is our passion and helping people get it "right" in camera is my goal

If you want to get on the mailing list for the exciting 2012 courses, shoot me an email enquiries@ricwoods.com or call the studio on 02 4962 1066.
