PB TOWAGE the the new players in Newcastle Harbour-ric woods photography
Thanks to the new players in town PB Towage,
our studio was Newcastle Harbour and my subjects were the Ocean Caesar a
288 meter bulk carrier ( that's longer than 2 rugby fields) and Pacific
Basins 4 Newcastle based tug boats . The brief was
to line them all up and capture a panorama. Now that was a "group shot"
that had me standing/boating way back..... At the end of the session one of the
captains suggested that he power the tug towards our camera boat for a
great shot, I have to tell you we had to get on the gas to stay in
front....serious horsepower is hidden in these tugs..... We love this

WE Promise our Subjects FAME !!- ric woods photography
Jason your a star !! We are often asked by our Corporate and Commercial clients about providing "talent" for photo shoots. Its not a high paid job but usually lots of fun for these "famous for a day". Jason (below) was the groom at a wedding we photographed and here Tile Rescue have used him for their website. They wanted someone that had an "open face and a likable smile"...Jason fitted the bill.

Miranda (below) was working in a service station whilst studying to be a teachers aide. I encouraged her to come in for a test shoot. Whittaker's Jewellers loved her for their "Nothing but....." campaign

Its great to see everyone get their 15 minutes of FAME !!

Merewether Surf Club-awnings by peter meyer

We were asked by one of our Sydney clients Blinds by Peter Meyer to capture another one of their projects.I was impressed by the build quality.

I thought the sensor that detects hi winds and retracts the awnings( above) is a great idea.

Electronic shutters control the sun coming up out of the water in summer.

The fixed awnings on the eastern side

BLOOD CURSED Book 4 of the Shadowfae Chronicles | |
| “Where do you want it?” Hot vampire lips caressed my shoulder in a fall of sweaty nightblack hair, and his salty breath burned me. I swallowed, sick. Please, just let this be over quickly. Smoke and nightclub lights dizzied me. Bass vibrated my lungs, guitars and a screeching electric violin, the raw melody of fairy desperation. Around us, dancing bodies writhed, rainbow limbs and wings and glazed faestruck eyes. Sparks shimmered in the air, the glassy fairy glamour that hides us from human eyes, and the scent of flesh and kisses fired sweet temptation into my blood. A typical midnight at Unseelie Court, the dark and notorious club where Melbourne’s shadowy underworld came to play. But tonight, I had an unpleasant job to do. The vampire licked sweat from my collarbone, searching with his iron-pierced tongue for my pulse, and my guts twisted. It’ll be easy, Emmy, Jasper, my boyfriend, had whispered. Show him some skin, tease him a little, give him a quick taste, and he’s yours. Just get me my gemstone. Want more? Click on Erica to get all the first Chapter and you can buy them HERE | |

Lake Macquarie House-ric woods photography
We were commissioned to shoot a house on Lake Macquarie for some builders.
The client wanted the roof line captured as the hero shot. A difficult job, although the house was great to walk through with interesting levels,up close the finished textures were simple and did not lend itself to stunning still images. We decided to mask the finer detail and light up the outside taking advantage of the dramatic slope of the land.

We placed 5 strobes outside the house gelled to match the interior lights. In camera the the back grass was let to go black to create a dramatic line up to the sloped roof. This decision was made as there was a septic tank in the foreground and the lawn was patchy. The client asked to have lawn placed in the shot in post production, they say the customer is always right. I would have left it drop to black
