TIP: When Quoting a Corporate Client….ric woods photography

When quoting a new corporate client remember to explain to them what they are paying for, try to get an idea of their budget.See these images above. The top image was a production snap shot of the shoot, it was made by Maree with the available light to document the scene during the photo shoot.( its a couple of years old)

We shot the second image of the athlete for a promo image to raise funds for the children’s hospital. It is practically straight out of camera. This location shoot on Nobbys Beach used 4 small strobes with coloured gels.

When a recent client asked me for a price on a job,Ill take the time to explain that there are many options, they can choose the image on the top or the hero shot on the bottom. It takes time and people (thanks to those who braved the cold and struggled with the lighting rigs) for the second shot and that means higher costs. Often people , as you know, will shop primarily on cost, be it for wedding, portrait or corporate photography.

If you can show them what you do you have a better chance of educating the client as to why our costs for the HERO shot will be higher than some one shooting available light.

By the way, they still may go with a cheaper quotation from myself or another photographer.

Mike Mortlock did a great job providing the music, it helped us consume the food and drink in a relaxed manner.
