GIDDEY FAMILY 60th Birthday Photo Shoot- by ric woods photography

What a great time we had getting everyone into the white seamless. After Maree and Amanda had completed the make up it was time to compose the Giddey Family. As usual my slightly bent sense of humour and corny jokes did the trick with the smiles.

I preach to my students about back up equipment. In two weeks we had 2x500w studio strobes
do the old flame out trick. Someone is on our side as Id just purchased another 4 x500 Bowens units....To get a decent depth of focus around f11/f16 with diffused light shooting a group of 17 in 4 rows, you need power !!!Other considerations other than the light loss through diffusion is soft diffused light that is kind to complexions of people over 25 (smile) so feathering the light sources requires even more power. We will be looking at all these issues in our new ADVANCED STUDIO LIGHTING COURSE in 2011.The 21 page course will be released in the next couple of days. If your interested in knowing more about Photography and Lighting on location and in the studio, email maree@ricwoods.com for a course booklet.

It was good fun to direct the boys for some interesting shots with their mum...all good sports

This 24' panorama had an aviation theme as their grandfather (60th Birthday) is in that industry

A great group to photograph
